Isaac Newton, the Thumb, and God

isaac newton

“In the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God’s existence.” – Sir Isaac Newton

The father of classical mechanics, DIY experimenter, and shining example of scientific discovery saw the thumb as one of the most amazing things in the world. Regardless of your religious beliefs, this quote shows that one of the most respected minds in human history considered a part of the hand as highly sophisticated and worthy of admiration.

  1. Thank you! Newton was a brilliant unique genius and scientist. He is not recognized as much as he should be for how important his work is for modern achievements. He also was a Christian, believed in God, and did work with the Bible that is just as important to learn as work in science, but this is never mentioned or taught.
